The Path

David Garaizar joins us for the first time in the Portfolio Challenge, he recently became a part of the Architect-USJob+J1 Visa Program this year, and has been working towards finding his next career step towards the USA. David views himself as a creative, dynamic person with ease of dealing with the public. He views his capacity for self-criticism allows him to adapt and learn in each situation. He is always seeking to create spaces that connect with nature and provide utility for those that use the architectural space.

For his project, The Path, his intentions are no different. David aimed to design a space that centers around a path that connects the exterior with the center of design, while creating a tunnel of nature around the path. As you see below, there is an example of a user that is walking on the rocks within the river that form just one section of the path. Even within the center building there are hanging gardens and many other incorporations of nature within closed spaces. In this way, David believes that you can create a user experience that makes it easy to feel like you are outside while being inside.
