Plastic Cloud

Alvaro Guillen joins us for another round of the Portfolio Challenge and this time he is submitting a very interesting residential space that is unique by using a cool woven fabric design. Find out more about his new project called Plastic Clouds.

Alvaro Guillen is a member of our Architect-US Job+J1 Visa Program. He has previously posted to projects for the challenge, A Silent Death and Cultuhipismo. This time around he is submitting a project called Plastic Cloud, which allowed Alvaro to get creative and create a new residential space in Figueria da Foz, Portugal. He tries to create a much more complex system and design aimed at providing a space for people to live and share.

Alvaro graduated from the Universidad Francisco Vitoria (UFV) in Spain, and more recently he lived in San Francisco while working at AMLGM. As you can see below you will find the different types of materials he decided to use and apply to woven design for strong resiliency in the structures. By alternating the pattern design and materials used, he was able to create unique and personalized floor plans and walls all over.

[Let us also share your great work with our Community and participate in the Portfolio Challenge today.]
