The Upsurge Tower

Yi Jun Aston is back for another submission into the Portfolio Challenge. Last time, his project The Hive @ Sydney, Australia, garnered over 256 likes on Instagram. At that point in time, it was the largest like count a project has received, and maintained that position until the October winner. So you should not miss out on his newest addition, The Upsurge Tower.

Yi Jun Aston previously submitted a winning project to the Portfolio Challenge with his project called The Hive @ Sydney. His project won with over 256 likes on Instagram over the month of JulyYi Jun is a top notch architect in the Architect-US Job+J1 Visa Program, and is now submitting another project called The Upsurge Tower. For this project, Yi Jun also submitted this project to an International Architecture Competition soon after graduating for his Masters in Architecture.

Yi Jun recently graduated from University of Hartford for their Masters in Architecture, and has been working at Marin Architects in New York City since 2018. Aston views himself as an architecture designer from Malaysia that has been able to apply his expertise and knowledge all over the world including Germany and the USA. One of his key goals is to create sustainable concept through architecture for users.

In the compact space environment (HongKong), massive and rigid skyscrapers region, the idea of upsurge tower with design intention of creating more extra greenery pocket space to let user interact more with nature and break away from the boringness of massive rigid building surrounding the downtown. A very simple pixel, cube shape space planning housing units and irregular arrangement design to bring different emotion to the community. The sustainability architecture input was designed with the tower to reduce the carbon footprint and bring the earth to a better sustainable future to restore the ecosystem balance.

Yi Jun used Sketchup, Vray, & Photoshop to create this beautiful masterpiece!
