Architect-US

B59, ready to board!

A letter and a number. It’s my gate for the next chapter of my life, destination: JFK aka New York City! Finally all my efforts will allow me to leave Italy for 18 months and live in the city that never sleeps as a trainee at Christian Wassman Studio, a small architectural practice in Manhattan, in the beautiful set of West Village with windows facing the Hudson River and New Jersey City’s skyline.

I still remember when I got the first contact with the studio and discussed together the opportunity to start together this cultural exchange program, I was in Berlin visiting my sister in a cold and rainy day that suddenly seemed to be less grey and melancholic with the idea of staying for a year and half in the U.S. I was thrilled and excited.

Now that I am waiting to board my flight, I have finally some time to think about all these last weeks of paperworks, interview at the consulate, trains to Milan, document to gather and sign, couriers to wait anxiously at my parents home where I was waiting for the final papers to arrive, constantly spying out of the windows toward the street in an obsessive way. Almost ready to pack all my favourite belongings to bring with me to keep me a bit of company in the new spaces I will soon have to make my new home.

Luckily, Architect-US assisted me in every step, and particularly Sonia, which I have to thanks for her patience. She was always ready to answer all my doubts and support me to prepare every document including my portfolio and CV in the most professional way according to the U.S. standards. in order to stand out as much as possible.

Stay tuned because the best is yet to come! Ciao 🙂
