The Architect-US Summer Internship Program offers more than just professional experience — it’s a chance to step out of your comfort zone, explore a new environment, and discover what architecture truly means on a global scale.
From day one, interns are thrown into real projects, collaborating with talented professionals, learning industry-standard tools, and contributing meaningfully to studio workflows. Beyond the office, they explore iconic neighborhoods, cultural hotspots, and local communities, gaining a perspective on life and design that goes far beyond the classroom.
This program isn’t just about adding lines to your portfolio — it’s about personal growth, professional clarity, and unforgettable experiences that shape the way you approach architecture, design, and life itself.
To truly understand what makes the Architect-US Summer Internship Program so transformative, it helps to hear directly from those who have lived it. One participant, Carolina Larrahona, spent 18 months in Los Angeles, and her journey perfectly illustrates how this program combines hands-on professional experience, personal growth, and life-changing opportunities.
For her, the program in Los Angeles was life-changing. Over 18 months, she worked on large-scale projects, particularly in data centers, where architecture intersects with infrastructure and technology. These experiences pushed her to grow technically, conceptually, and creatively, while exploring multiple areas of architecture such as sustainability, BIM, digital infrastructure, and healthcare design.
The program also helped Carolina define her future goals, including obtaining her U.S. architecture license and preparing for the LEED Green Associate accreditation. Beyond professional growth, she emphasizes the relationships she built: “Over the last 18 months, I’ve created friendships that feel like family. My colleagues and mentors supported me every step of the way, reminding me of the power of community in this profession.”
See Carolina’s journey firsthand in her video, where she shares what it’s like to work on complex projects, explore specialized areas of architecture, and grow both professionally and personally. Her experience captures the essence of the Architect-US Summer Internship Program — a unique combination of hands-on learning, career development, and life-changing experiences.
