Maria Lima joins us for her first Portfolio Challenge submission, as she is in the midst of finding work in the US via the Architect-US Job+J1 Visa Program. Maria is seeking to work in California near the beach and she is well on her way to make it over to the West Coast. In her project called Green Retreat, she provides the community with a sense of her rendering skills and design layouts for a hotel built in the woods. By creating a sustainable option for hospitality that embraces smaller sized buildings allows for more sustainable design. Her designs define how the user can walk through the forest and from house to house on a wooden path. Maria also defines the systems within each house and how they reuse and recycle energy created from heat and cold depending on the weather.
