Getting settled in a new city

I landed on a Friday morning in San Francisco knowing I only had that weekend to get settled in my new place before I started working on Monday.

I took an Uber from the airport straight to my new apartment. I had done some research on the neighborhoods and decided on this room but wasn’t too sure about what to expect. I arrived into a beautiful victorian style house and grabbed the keys from a lockbox. I walked in with my suitcases and was met by a very friendly roommate. She showed me around the apartment and where everything was. I was introduced to my two other roommates, they are all USF students!

I started unpacking and realized how much stuff I needed to get organized. I spent the weekend going to the bank, visiting numerous Ikea and Target stores to set up my new room, meeting my roommates and trying out the public transportation system. I already started noticing how intricate the city was and how different neighborhoods were from each other. But sightseeing would have to wait until I finished getting settled, I still had so much to do! I did some grocery runs and tried to get my room ready to feel prepared for my first work day on Monday.

Trying to figure all of this out at once in a couple of days wasn’t easy but I managed to get it all done and feel somewhat ready for my first day at work!
