This adventure is going faster than I imagined. 5 months have already passed and Puerto Rico has already become my home. I can definitely say that I am home.
Without a doubt, when you feel at ease at work, you like your day to day life, and people feel you as if you were one of the island, you are happy. In other words, you can say that you are at home.
The projects in MARVEL are progressing, I am more and more comfortable in the company, I am counted with me in important things, and without a doubt, I like what I work in. Besides, my supervisor gives me responsibilities. I’m involved in several projects right now. I am mainly involved in the remodeling of an office building into a Hotel, in one of the most emblematic areas of Old San Juan. Plaza where the City Hall is located, with views to all the old area and the bay of San Juan.
In addition, I am also involved in the design of a 19-storey residential tower in one of the busiest avenues in San Juan. Interesting project where the main premise is to incorporate the green element in the facade and some balconies. Above all, that helps in the sunlight of the rooms. Therefore, I have to say that this is the first time I have been part of the design of a building of such height.
On the other hand, the weather here remains the same, it is very changeable. For Instance, you can wake up in the morning with clear skies and a lot of heat, and before you know it, a squall comes in and lasts for a while, and at the end of the day, clear skies again. The idea of scheduling yourself to go to the beach is difficult. There have been several times this month that I have gone to the beach and 15 minutes later I have had to turn back because of sudden downpours.
In conclusion, the days are passing quickly, and the experience has been unforgettable, but I also miss my people in Spain. In a month I have a few days holiday where I will visit them again.
