J1 Visa Adventure starts in Manhattan

Hello everyone, my name is Marco and this is my first post and  I will tell you about my J1 Visa adventure.

I’m a recent graduate from Politecnico di Torino University in Turin, Italy. After some work experience, I decided that I wanted to go to the United States to experience what working in an American firm was like, so I decided to start my J1 Visa adventure.

After getting in touch with Architect-US, I was able to arrange my first interview. It went very well and the next day I was offered a position at Inglese Architecture+Engineering, a mid-size firm based in New Jersey.

I couldn’t believe how little time it took! The process of J1 Visa adventure went smoothly and rather fast and now my adventure is about to start. Leaving my hometown brings along a bittersweet feeling, as I’m sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but very excited for what’s waiting for me on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

I’ll surely have to face many challenges, such as the long commute to work since I decided to live in Manhattan. The different measurement system, language, and office standards will also need a learning curve on my side, but I’m more than willing to learn and show what I can do.
In a little bit, I’ll be there, I’ll see you on the other side!
