The best way to discover New York is from a saddle!

That’s my opinion after a Sunday on a Citi Bike through Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights and Williamsburg. Citi Biking through the city is a great way to experience its marvelous architecture and varying neighborhoods.

This is how it works: 500 Citi Bike docks are placed out all over Manhattan, western Brooklyn, eastern New Jersey (Hoboken area) and Queens . Find all stations here

To rent a bike you can 1) Go to any of the docks and pay 12 USD with your credit card for a 24 hour session. You can use the bike 30 minutes at the time, meaning that you have to park it at a dock every 30 minutes. 2) Go to Citi Bikes website here:  Pay 155 USD for a year, and you can use the Citi bikes as much as you want throughout the year, as long as you dock the bike every 45 minutes.

I often take the Citi Bike in the morning to my office. It’s a great way to start the day! I live in Hell’s Kitchen and my office is at NYU, close to Washington Square Park, so when going to work, I can bike along Hudson River Park. It’s a beautiful strip along the river and when I arrive at the office I’m energized and ready to start the day! You should try it too!
