Visiting the windy city

Good afternoon everyone,

How is going? I am writing to you just some days after my return from Chicago, the windy city of the United States.

Almost 2 months passed since last time I had some days off and I thought was time to go somewhere. Miami is great, this is true, but this experience is a great opportunity to discover new places of the U.S. too. Am I right? plus, if you act smart, you can find very cheap domestic flight. So did I and I booked a week end  in Chicago.

You should know that I visited twice NY and I was astonished by that city and I though I will never find something so interesting. But I was wrong, I really enjoyed Chicago and now it will be one of the city I will suggest to visit.

Of course, 3 days are absolutely not enough to visiting the city but it was a good start, at least to understand the urban development and the connection between the important spot.

As an architect, I was honored to stay in one of the City that made the story of the modern architecture. Incredible for me to starring at one of the most important building of Mies Van Der Rohe when I went to the Chicago federal center, plus just 20 feet from that, in the plaza, I would admire one of the latest Picasso Sculpture. Moving forward, I went to the  millenium park and while I was trying to take a good picture to the cloud gate, «the bean» for the friends, I came across Frank Ghery’s Jay Pritzker Pavillon.

It was simply amazing! last but not least the Auditorium building of  Sullivan and Adler, and the 66 route and the willis tower. My mind was blowing!

I can wait to come again, next time I can’t miss Robie House and all the other building of the humongous Wright!

P.s: a little suggestion, do not go during the winter, My doctor can tell you! I came back to Florida with a very bad cold!
