Arquitectonica was founded by Principals Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear, partners in life and in work, they have led the firm since 1977.

Since its’ inception, the firm received instant attention from critics and the public for its bold modernism design that was reminiscent of the renaissance. It continues to push boundaries with its creative use of materials, geometry, color, and pattern to introduce the world to a new kind of humanistic modern design.

Company Culture at Arquitectonica

Arquitectonica is incredibly devoted to sustainability. It is widely recognized for being capable of creating unique forms of imagery in harmony with the environment. The firm explores the challenges of contemporary built and natural environments and develops solutions that keep modern aesthetics and environmentally friendly practices in balance to create value, identity and sustainable environments.

Arquitectonica’s philosophy is based on the principle of preserving a location’s geographic character – the entire combination of natural and human attributes that make one place distinct from another – an authentic design process that preserves the ecological and cultural environment.

At Arquitectonica, the founders believe strongly in educating others in excellency in design, and the importance of balance between the project and the environment. And in order to further green design practices, it birthed ArquitectonicaGEO, an architecture firm that focuses on landscaping to improve and innovate resilient and sustainable design.

Elysee

Located in Miami, Florida, USA, the Elysee is a monument to rationality even if at first sight it might be considered to be whimsical. With a size of 489,000 sf / 45,500 m2, if you turn it sideways, the Elysee is a tower of three neighborhoods, and officially the tallest building in the Edgewater District of Miami. The tower becomes larger the further up it goes, exposing more area to the amazing views, while it narrows to the base to create more open spaces. It might be said that the Elysee is a monument to the triumph of man.

Infinity

Infinity is located in the Kirchberg District, Luxembourg, and it’s intended to transform the area into major business district. The scheme, which consists of a residential tower and a shorter office complex, emphasizes the connection of the two primary elements – a glazed public corridor with two green roofs that intersect in a dynamic figure eight. In addition to providing a seamless route across the complex, the elevated park shields a small plaza to the south from the sporadic strong winds originating from the Alzette River.
