Spring in NYC

Living in New York City during April is a dynamic experience that is bursting with activities and opportunities to explore. The city begins to thaw out from winter and comes to life with renewed energy and enthusiasm. From the cultural events to the outdoor activities, there’s always something exciting happening in this vibrant city.

One of the highlights of April in New York City is the annual Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The festival celebrates the blooming of the cherry blossom trees, and features live performances, food vendors, and traditional Japanese arts and crafts. It’s a wonderful way to immerse oneself in another culture and enjoy the beauty of nature.

As an architecture trainee, April provides a wealth of opportunities to study the city’s buildings and landmarks. From the grandeur of the art deco Chrysler Building to the iconic arches of the Brooklyn Bridge, the city’s architecture is a constant source of inspiration and learning. The training itself also got a lot more interesting in that period, since I was assigned a new project at the pre-design phase. It is the first time at WORKac that I get to work on a project from its beginning!

April is also a great time to explore the city’s diverse food scene. The many food markets and outdoor festivals offer a chance to sample the city’s culinary delights, from street food to high-end restaurants. The city’s many parks and open spaces also provide a perfect backdrop for picnics and outdoor dining.

In summary, living in New York City during April is a thrilling experience that is packed with cultural events, architectural marvels, and culinary delights. It’s a time to explore and discover, and to appreciate the many wonders that this vibrant and diverse city has to offer.
