Guillermo Traibel Abella was part of the Architect-US Job+J1 Visa Program for some time, and last he submitted his project called Roosevelt Avenue to the Portfolio Challenge. He also submitted Arcobaleno which is a Recreation Complex in Punta del Este, Uruguay, which aimed to preserve the tradition and the design style from the 1960s. This time around he submitted a project called Villa Serrana Lodge. After graduating from Universidad ORT Uruguay, and receiving his Bachelors in Architecture, he was ready to make the move to the USA. Currently he is working at Humphrey & Partners Architects in Montevideo!

In this project, Guillermo tries to create a residential villa that is designed to blend into the natural structures around the project. As you can see below, he goes into detail showing how he would create the sense that the villa is part of nature, rather than standing out. With this mission in mind, Guille provides us with a breakdown of how the structures would be connected going from higher ground to lower ground, and he gives us an idea as to how the windows would be designed to allow for light in from a variety of angles.
