V Housing

Giulia Pierotti joins us for another session of the Portfolio Challenge! Last time she submitted 4356, but this time she is submitting her take of affordable housing by properly using space and shapes that complement one another.

Giulia Pierotti is a wonderful Italian Architect that has been a part of our Architect-USJob+J1 Visa Program, last time she submitted 4 3 5 6 for the Portfolio Challenge. This time around she is showing us her project called V Housing, which shows her design method step by step. From the V concept sketch to the utility use of the space and the final graphic design.  Giulia attended the Architecture of Interiors, Faculty of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano for her Undergraduate and has been working in New York City with Space4Architecture for over two years now!

[Do you want to be our next featured talent and participate in our monthly Portfolio Challenge? Submit your work here.]

In the sections that show how she creates the different Model Floorplans for the parts of the V Housing and in the final form you see the subtraction of elements as well as the extrusion of elements. Giulia views these shapes and efficient use of space allow for more utility in the design.

[Let us also share your great work with our Community and participate in the Portfolio Challenge today.]

How do you plan your design and center it around a specific concept? What is your methodology? Leave us your thoughts/insights in the comments section below!! 👇👇👇
