Their Alumni will join our Job+J1 Visa Program, and gain exclusive advantages and professional network access that can push their careers to the next level. Both the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) collaborate to provide this Masters in Collective Housing, and are excited to work with us to extend even more opportunities to their Alumni and community.

Master of Advanced Studies UPM/ETH in Collective Housing (MCH), is a postgraduate full-time international professional program of advanced architecture design in cities and housing presented by Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (UPM) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). After thirteen editions, it is rated as the 3rd best architecture postgraduate program in the world, being the best architecture master’s program in Europe according to the Best Architecture Master’s Ranking 2020 (BAM). So you can imagine Architect-US excitement and deepest honor to collaborate with them!

UPM and ETH join forces to offer the first UPM / ETH Diploma: “Master of Advanced Studies UPM/ETH in Collective Housing”. ETH Zurich, the most prestigious technology university in the world, signed in 2016 an agreement with UPM that officially recognizes MCH as one of its MAS programs, validating this master with the same recognition than existing further postgraduate courses offered at ETH Zurich. This agreement is based on the importance and commitment of MCH with excellence since its foundation in 2006, when it was offered for the first time at UPM Madrid.

The thorough selection process of architects and the intensive experience in Madrid create bonds that are meant to last in time. With the help of MCH Alumni, they contact participants of different editions to create the basis for research, knowledge, and opportunity sharing.

The reduced number of participants allows a close contact with professors as well, who are used to responding in a generous way, thus helping participants to increase their career improvement opportunities.

Occupation & Career Upgrade

One of their main goals is the job placement of their specialist professionals, who can address global problems and take important roles in the most relevant architecture offices, urban and landscape planning or make contributions in fields such as environmental science, emergency housing, or critique of architecture.

Architect-US and ETH Zurich / UPM all share the same values and perspective on how opportunities should be provided to the global architecture community, seamlessly and personalized are the two words that come to mind. Gone are the days of aimlessly applying to all the job positions that are online. Architecture is a community, and we should support one another by making sure that the correct firms are connected with the correct talent. It is with this goal of breaking down barriers and connecting the global community, that we all view this partnership as necessary to provide you with the ultimate experience when seeking to collaborate and inspire innovation in Architecture and Design.

The program consists of 600 hours (60 ECTS). Each credit is associated to 25 personal studying-working hours. Participants will develop their design skills through an intensive series of one-week workshops and complete their theoretical knowledge in specialty seminars.
