I can’t believe how time flies, it seems that it was just a few weeks ago when I first started looking for information on how to achieve this big goal: working in the US. During my online research I came across Architect-US, they seemed promising, so I decided to contact them. And I’m really happy I did, they were able to help me go through this complicated process of getting the working visa approved.
I’ve been thinking how to encourage people that, like me, have this idea in mind and want to give their personal and professional career a push. So, I’ve decided to share my experience, thoughts and achievements.
I’ve had the chance to improve my professional qualifications while working for an incredible design firm. Furthermore, getting out of my comfort zone and having to work in a different language, in a new work environment with new codes and systems, has developed my professional skills tremendously. I have also learnt a lot from my mentors and co-workers, I’ve been able to enrich my knowledge in design by understanding different ways of thinking and developing ideas.
But this is far more than a professional experience. I’ve made friends not only from the US but from all over the world. I’ve discovered tons of food, traditions and new cultures. I’ve visited every beautiful corner of my new city, and I’ve also had the opportunity to travel and discover amazing cities and natural parks: from The Big Apple to Chicago, LA, Portland and Seattle, from to the amazing desertic landscapes of Utah to the green forests of Oregon and Idaho.
Honestly, this is not only professional and cultural but also an awesome life changing decision. If you are thinking about it, just do it, you won’t regret it, it’s 100% worth it!!!
