Hi everybody,
I’m writing this post after my J-1 Visa has been finally approved by US Embassy in Naples, and I have to say that it’s been a long way to get to this point. My experience began three months ago, right before getting my master’s degree at University of Padua. At that time, I took into consideration the idea to spend a period of my life outside Europe and so I started looking for opportunities in Australia, New Zeland and America.
Fortunately, a professor of mine told me about OSE, an engineering consultancy specialized in the conservation of landmarks and historical buildings in NYC, and so I decided to send them my résumé. After few days, I got a skype interview and an offer for a 12-month paid internship. That was completely unexpected and I had no idea on how to get an American visa!
Looking up on internet I felt completely lost and the process seemed to be complicated and unfriendly. All at once, I bumped into architect-us.com where I found all the information I needed. They provided all the necessary support along the process, driving me through the paperworks. Lately we were in a rush to get the visa on time (I am gonna start in a week) but thanks to Patricia, Isabel and Emilia, I am finally ready to accomplish my American dream!
