After a while living in NYC, I finally applied for the IDNYC card. It is a government-issued identification card that is available to all City residents age 10 and older. Immigration status does not matter. It grants admission and/or memberships to a lot of public buildings or museums! One of my favorite museums in the city is the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and one of the benefits of holding this card is that it includes the sign-up to one year free membership to the MoMA and PS1.
Obviously, as soon as I got it, I went to the MoMA and enjoyed mostly the Joan Miro: Birth of the World exhibition, which will still be there through June 15th. After that, I decided it could very much be a cultural day, so I went walking from the MoMA to the Whitney Museum of American Art. The walk was really nice, because I walked on the High Line and it was a very sunny day!
The main exhibition of the Whitney currently is Andy Warhol – From A to B and Back Again: Public and Private. It ends by the end of this month, so I really wanted to see it!
And the last of my activities on this past Sunday was to check out the new opening of Little Spain, a creation by chefs Jose Andres and the Adria brothers. I really miss Spanish food, so it was a great end to an amazing day: tortilla, paella and churros!
