Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s already been 9 months in the vibrant and beautiful city of Chicago! It feels like time has flown by, and it’s honestly a little surreal to think about all the experiences I’ve had here. Chicago has truly stolen my heart. The people I’ve met at the office have been incredible, and I’ve made so many new friends who have made this experience even more memorable.
This past month has probably been the most challenging one yet. The office was buzzing with preparation for a big project deadline, and the team came together to finish the drawing set. It was one of those moments where everyone worked together. It was intense, but it also showed me just how much we can achieve when we work together.
Outside of the office, I’ve had several great opportunities to network and explore all that Chicago has to offer. Whether it was grabbing a coffee with a colleague, attending local events, or simply strolling through the beautiful neighborhoods, there’s always something new to discover. One of the highlights of the month was attending a hockey game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks. I went with five other ASGG employees, and it was such a blast! We had great seats, and the energy in the arena was electric. I was cheering for the Leafs, while my coworkers were obviously rooting for the Blackhawks. The rivalry made for some fun banter throughout the game, and in the end, Toronto won, which made for an unforgettable night. There’s something so special about experiencing those moments with new friends, especially in a city as vibrant as Chicago.
As I look back on the past 9 months, I feel incredibly grateful for all the experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and the growth I’ve experienced both professionally and personally. Chicago has truly been a place where I’ve learned so much and created so many lasting memories.
