Exploring Glendale

I hope everyone had a wonderful new year!

The new year recalls me how fast time flies; it feels like I’ve only been in the United States for a few months, but it’s been nearly a year. The weather has been getting cold day by day. At the first time, L.A. is my imagination is always under the sun kisses, but it’s only happen a few months before it turned out to cold so I even have to get a down jacket, or may be because I came from tropical country so I am extremely sensitive to cold temperatures.

Besides the weather, I would like to share my new favorite spot to go for a walk/ shopping. After spending months exploring downtown Los Angeles, I made the decision to travel a little further this time, and I chose Burbank. The main purpose is I just wanted to visit IKEA. In my country people come to IKEA a lot. Most of people spend a lot of time indoors or in shopping malls because the weather in Thailand is too hot for outdoor walks. IKEA is also one of that, like we go to gallery but it’s furniture not art. And IKEA can sometimes help me pop up with new design ideas as well.

It was a fun trip even I had to spend almost 4 hours on buses for a round trip. On the way back I noticed some cool spot in Glendale so I decided to go back the week after.

Glendale is a small town close to Burbank. The last place I noticed was a large shopping area. On one side of the road, there is a large Marshalls and Ross store next to each other, and on the other side is a shopping mall with everything you could possibly want. This one is similar to the Groove in downtown Los Angeles, but I believe it is larger and better.! I’d say this place can be considered as a real shopping mall since others are even small than shopping malls in Thailand. A thing surprised me a lot is there were a lot of teenagers whenever I haven’t seen them a lot in DTLA. The day I got there most of the stores were having sales, and I had a great time looking for some good deals. This was the first time I had spent 13 hours continuously outside.

I really recommend Glendale to anyone who enjoys shopping like me!
