Hi everyone,I recently completed my second month at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (ASGG) and had the opportunity to go to a Chicago Cubs game. This month’s highlights included connecting with local Thornton Tomasetti engineers, attending a Chicago Cubs game, and participating in the ASGG Hackathon event.
The opportunity to network with Thornton Tomasetti engineers was fantastic. ASGG and TT engineering interns had the chance to connect and socialize, providing a valuable opportunity to meet and network with others in the AEC industry. Engaging with professionals I may collaborate with in the future was a pleasure.
Attending the Chicago Cubs game was another highlight. ASGG took five interns and ten staff members to the event, allowing us to socialize and connect with colleagues we might not interact with regularly. Visiting Wrigley Field was a dream come true for me, as I have always wanted to attend a game there. The experience was so enjoyable that I am already planning to return for another game.
The ASGG Hackathon event was an exciting and enriching experience. Over the weekend, ASGG employees had the chance to explore topics of interest. I chose to delve into 3D printing and fabrics, creating five to ten iterations of 3D printed fabrics. This hands-on exploration allowed me to develop new skills and knowledge in an area I am passionate about.
Overall, my time at ASGG has been incredibly rewarding. I am continually learning new software and gaining experiences that will be invaluable in my studies and future career. The combination of professional development, networking opportunities, and engaging events has made my time at ASGG truly unforgettable.
