Marvel Designs Selected Projects
The Arlo Midtown is a 489-key hotel in Manhattan’s Garment District. With a soaring interior atrium, public and private terraces throughout the building, and expansive views of the Hudson River, this project seeks to provide a light and open atmosphere with its design.

The Battery Maritime Building (BMB) — a 1909 historic ferry terminal at the southern tip of Manhattan — was once the crown jewel of the New York City waterfront. Marvel was lead architect on the adaptive reuse development of this important structure, crafting an elegantly modern historically sensitive conversion into a multi-use event and hospitality venue. Today the 162,000-SF facility is re-activated by its many new uses.

El Portal Visitors’ Center is nestled within El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System. Originally designed by the Puerto Rican architecture firm Sierra Cardona Ferrer, the project had undergone no significant changes since its opening in 1996. After the extensive hurricane damage, the US Forest Service decided to overhaul El Portal and update its offerings. A competition for the design-build contract was opened and Marvel, along with Interlink Construction, were awarded the project. Marvel’s intervention, in partnership with Interlink, consists of the re-design and complete renovation of the buildings and site.
