Dear and Frozen January

Hello Winter

January is the month the cold finally really came to stay. Little snow flurries made their appearance on our everyday lives and living with -20ºC (yes, freezing cold) became a routine. I am so used to cold weather and snow this is not being that much of a deal breaker for me, but yet it´s so hard the winter here. It´s also so nice, because I feel at home! Walking along snowy Central Park was an experience I´ll never forget… Beautiful.

Saying goodbye to Christmas

Spending Christmas time in the city has been such an experience, a bit bittersweet, because being away from home was a bit hard but also super exciting beacuse I try to not take for granted any of the great things I am getting the chance to experience here! We even had a Roscón de Reyes, a typical Spanish dessert we have on the Three Wise Men´s Day. Of course Little Spain had one ready for us and our craving for it.

Exploring the city

I could also revisit this month the Guggenheim Museum, and reconfirm how amazing it is. The architecture of its interior is incredibly amazing (courtesy of Frank Lloyd Wright) and the current exhibition of Kandinsky was just breathtaking. Being able to see all the pieces we´ve been studying and learning about in first person is really a dream, I feel so lucky whenever I get to visit really famous pieces in exhibitions.
One great thing about NYC is that you never ever run out of plans and new places to discover, so that is what we are doing every weekend and every time we have the occasion. So far one of my favorite places is SoHo. Such a beautiful, delicate and elegant neighborhood, living there would be an absolute dream. You really feel like you are in a movie set.

Can´t wait to keep discovering this city that I am not ashamed to already call home.
