December like no other

Hi Architect-US dreamers,

I cannot believe it has been a month already! Time flies when you are having fun. Or when you have to move houses a lot and use Uber all the time because you don’t have a car. Maybe I am just saying this because living with my stuff still packed in my suitcases for a month when I am not on vacation equals permanent chaos in my head. It has been quite the ride and although I am not as established as I thought I would be at this point, things are falling into place .

It seems like yesterday when the officer in customs thought it would be a nice experience for me to send me to an inspection ‘just because’, after a ten hour flight and few more of waiting for customs. It turns out the officers downstairs were more friendly!

Doing paperwork or anything really in this country has a rule you have to follow, a fee to pay, a paper to fill in, a waiting period to get approved. It is crazy and we complain about Spain… Covid of course, delays it all because everything it is by appointme7nt only and there is a long waiting list. Luckily the company has been really flexible and helpful helping me out with all the appointments for paperwork and house hunting, etc.

On Christmas Eve I went all American, I had a really good hamburger with fries and milkshake for dinner, because why not?! I walked my dog on a sunny 25th December by the beach and enjoyed the New Year’s fireworks all along Miami skyline.

I watched the last sunset of the year from North Beach and felt so blessed to be here… Happy 2022!
