It was on that sunny afternoon that I exposed my thoughts with some Architect friends. They were overwhelmed with my ideas » … studding again… or doing a Trainee with your experience…hummm… where? how? If I was you I would choose a very reputable country in the Landscape Architecture field.» The idea of USA was tinkling in my head. But, »How can I have such kind of opportunity its so difficult…» That was when I started searching in LinkedIn some foreigner architects that were working in New York. After contacting some of then I had a really great contact that advice me to take a look in Architect-US Agency. He had had a great experience with then!
After reading a lot about the program and the agency I decided to structure a plan to achieve my goals, it would be a great adventure … imagine me having an opportunity in United States … oh my… unforgettable!
I’m a 32 years old female, Landscape Architect and I worked in Morocco and Ivory Coast in some big projects. However I was always in very small teams and often I was the only Landscape architect of the company. I needed an experience with a consolidated Landscape architects team in a reputed country to learn with then, to change ideas, to upgrade my methods and fill some gaps in my project process and so much more.
In September I started fiercely applying spontaneously to offices that I knew yet, I followed the jobs opportunity page of Architect-US, I received daily the last jobs posted and I added some office directors in LinkedIn so I could start my presentation for a possible trainee chance. At the same time, I planned to visit New York and Boston in January to fill the vibration of both cities and figure out if I would like or not to live there. January was perfect for that, good prices to purchase flights, hotels, attend in cultural events and at the same time I would have 4 months between September and January to make my dream a reality and find my host company. If I had the chance in January I would be able to visit some offices and to present myself personally. And you what.. it worked… it happened!!!
Since that moment and after receiving my confirmation email, in February , I started all the procedure with Architect-US and right now I have my flight booked for 12th March 2020! Without the effectiveness The Architect-US and the local sponsor it wouldn’t be possible! Here I go to my American adventure!
