It’s already the second time that I’m traveling to New Orleans and I have to say this place looks so magical every time.I remember the first time I went there me and my boyfriend took a flight from Houston which was about 40 minutes long. So close to Houston and at the same time so different and I guess everyone can easily notice why this town is considered the perfect place if someone wants to completely detach from the everyday life and take a break in the wild and chaos and music of New Orleans.
The narrow streets of the French quarter are clearly the most popular place where to be in town but I have to admit we also loved to visit the warehouse district, with all its brick industrial buildings very nicely restored and converted into residential buildings. We liked it so much that the second time we spent some days in town we found a beautiful accommodation in this area, just close to the famous National WWII Museum. To anyone who is interested to visit the French Quarter then, I feel to suggest to book a guided tour. Me and Giuseppe had the pleasure to be taken up and down the district from this very well prepared lady that told us everything about the very fascinating history of this amazing town. During night time the narrow streets of the French quarter get very crowded and music is everywhere. Restaurants and bars are open till very late. Walking through the streets you can see people facing from the balconies, singing and dancing. It has been impossible for me to stop in several oyster bars and try this amazing product that here is so popular.
The French influence in town is sill really present and I was surprised to know that the most of the people there can still speak French.
