THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PUERTO RICO (03)

I talk in this last post about some incredible plans and adventures you can do in Puerto Rico. We went to Fajardo, a village located in the East of the Island. We went to one of the beaches where we took a kayak to the bioluminescent bay. That interesting phenomenon is caused by marine plankton that light and glow when you touch the water. This curious reaction is a defense mechanism. After rowing the kayak through a calm and beautiful canal for forty minutes, you arrive at “Laguna Grande” one of the three bio bays in Puerto Rico. You can plan the visit with a group just before the sunset. When you arrive in the lagoon it will be dark and you will enjoy this incredible experience. Another great plan to do during your holidays is the zipline. Toro Verde is located in the mountains of Orocovis. We went to “La Bestia” one of the longest zip lines in the World. The experience was amazing. You fly more than a kilometer over the mountains seeing beautiful and green landscapes. Definitely one of the greatest and extreme experiences I had on the Island!

Of course, I cannot forget the beaches. We went to Culebra Island to practice snorkeling. This island is part of the Spanish Virgin Islands. You will find some beautiful beaches on this island that have been ranked in the top 10 in the world numerous times. You can take a ferry from Fajardo. The calm beaches are protected and you will find incredible corals and brightly colored fish in its crystalline water. I hope you have enjoyed my posts about this beautiful island. There were more plans that we did like visit the university of Mayaguez, Karaoke, Padel board… but I don’t want to reveal all the potential that Puerto Rico has to offer. I am sure you will discover and love this place as much I have done. Enjoy!
