If you are a sweet lover person, if you are that person that walks by a bakery and literally lose your mind, NY is going to be a lovely place for you. I am not talking about the typical starbucks or some famous places like Magnolia etc, but another million other spots that will become your absolute paradise. Here´s some tips to survive your guilty pleasure attacks in the city.
Best cookies in the world
Okay, my total favorite place in the city, my go to when I really get those cravings is without any doubt Levain. It is a little bakery with a few spots around New York that have THE most delicious cookie you´ll ever have. It is so big, that one cookie and a cappuccino, literally make your day. Me and my friend, we love this plan for some weekend afternoons, Levain and laying in the sun in Central Park, name a better plan. You have to try my favourite, that is “two chip chocolate chip”, from another planet, but the other ones are so good too!
Traditional and homemade
One thing you have to do if you live in NY is go to the Farmers Markets. I usually go to the one in Union Square, that opens 4 days a week. There you can find not only lots of amazing groceries and products from their farms, but some pies, cakes, muffins, bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, etc that will blow your mind. And on top of that the people there are so so sweet and nice, you´ll become a regular!
Really cheap
Other option I do have to mention, and not so many people know is Trader Joe´s, the grocery store. This store has the most amazing selection of sweet desserts, all of them absolute delicious and incredibly cheap. This is my go to when we want to have a low key party but satisfy our little needs.
