Finding an apartment in Los Angeles

It’s true that the process was time-consuming as I had to interview with numerous people before I found the right place but overall it’s kind of a fun adventure.

Hi! My name is Roberto Ortiz de Landazuri and this is my first post in the Architect-US blog and I am going to tell you how was my experience finding an apartment in Los Angeles. It has almost been a month since I arrived in Los Angeles so now, with a little bit more of action I feel like it’s a great moment to start sharing my experience. In this post, I’ll write about how I managed to find an apartment fast.

Finding an apartment in Los Angeles is not an easy task.  Competition is fierce, and rent is high enough to ensure that you’re probably not going to get everything you want but with a little bit of patience and dedication, you’ll be able to find the right place.

In my case, I decided to split the bill and look for a flat with a roommate. In this case, I found that the best option is Craiglist. There are literally thousands of options and I’m sure one will suit your needs. That is how I found my flat in the Miracle Mile with an awesome roommate, only 20 minutes to Santa Monica, Downtown, and work.

It’s true that the process was time-consuming as I had to interview with numerous people before I found the right place in Los Angeles but overall it’s kind of a fun adventure when I realize all the people I met and the experiences they have shared with me.

While you finding an apartment in Los Angeles, if you don’t have a friend in the city that can host you,  I strongly suggest you find a place to stay via Airbnb or similar sites as hotels in LA can be really expensive and your host will share with you lot of tricks about LA.
