Visiting the Perez Art Museum is certainly a Miami experience.
If you are planning to take a trip to Miami, the museum is a must…at least the terrace, which they call it waterfront portico! I went the last time to get some art inspiration and found out that what most amazed me was enjoying the view after the sunset in those stairs, looking the sky and the colorfully illuminated bridge, between the sound of the cars passing by and the the quiet bay. There is a happy hour every thursday, so many people gather after office to talk and enjoy the atmosphere.
You dont need to pay the admission fee to be able to enjoy the outdoor, although I would suggest to go because there is a cool temporary exposition right now from Julio Le Parc, who by the way is from my city (what a coincidence!) and the exhibition invites you to be part of it, to play, to analyze…it kind of break the wall between the viewer and the artwork, because you are part of if; and there is also a permanent american painting one, very interesting too. In case you decide to go and want to save money ($16) every first thursday of the month is free admission, so dont miss that opportunity!
So, a night in the museum in the end sounds really good!
