My experience with Architect-US

Hi everybody! I am Louise from Paris, and I have just arrived in NYC for a one-year internship in Manhattan! I am writing this post to share my first experience with Architect-US Career Training Program.

It was the host company where I will be doing my internship that suggested that I could contact Architect-US in order to obtain my J1 visa. During the whole process, which at first seemed to me quite complex and time-consuming, I was guided by Patricia, Architect-US Program Director, who enlightened me on some particular and unclear points of the process. Architect-US was directly in contact with my host company, so I did not have to act as a go-between for Architect-US and the company, which was really convenient for me. Patricia was really kind, and she answered my mails very quickly. She did not hesitate to remind me of the important deadlines when I took a little too much time to send her the documents. Finally, I manage to obtain my J1 visa several weeks before my departure without any difficulty.

Two or three weeks before my departure, I had a pre-orientation session on skype with Architect-US, during which they remind me of the few important points I will have to bear in mind when coming to NYC (Social Security Number, Taxes…). I found this session quite helpful and above all very reassuring.

Once I arrive in NYC, I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the things to manage (getting an American phone number, opening a bank account, finding a flat…) but Architect-US did not failed to send me an encouraging mail. I think it is great to know that I can always email Architect-US team if I still have other questions! So I can say that my first experience with Architect-US was very positive.
