Hello everyone!
November has been one of the most memorable months of my stay in Boston so far. Besides continuing to learn and grow at Fogarty Finger, this month has been full of American traditions, new friendships, and cultural experiences that have made me feel more connected to life here.
One of the highlights was, of course, Thanksgiving. It was my first time celebrating this national holiday in the U.S., and I was lucky enough to spend it with an American family. Sharing a homemade dinner, learning about their traditions, and experiencing the warmth of the celebration firsthand was incredibly special. In addition to that, I was also invited to a Friendsgiving, which was equally meaningful — a gathering full of people from different countries, each bringing a dish and their own stories. Both celebrations made me feel at home, even thousands of kilometers away.
Earlier in the month, I also experienced Halloween in the U.S. for the first time. The decorations, costumes, and energy in the streets were amazing. It’s a holiday I had only seen in movies, so living it in person was a lot of fun.
November was also a month of meeting new people and making plans. I’ve been connecting with both Americans and internationals, which has made my transition much richer. One of my favorite moments was attending an a cappella concert at Sanders Theatre at Harvard to see the Harvard–Radcliffe Veritones perform. The atmosphere, the music, and the historic setting made it an unforgettable evening.
At work, I continue to learn every day. I’ve been involved in different projects across both Boston and New York, which has helped me understand the pace, expectations, and style of architecture here. I’m gaining new skills, adapting to new methodologies, and becoming more confident in this professional environment.
Now that December is approaching, I’m excited for the Christmas season in Boston — the lights, the atmosphere, and all the new experiences that come with it.
November was full of firsts, and I can’t wait to see what the next months bring.
