Alterstudio Architecture designed City Park Residence with respect for the complexity of the sloping terrain on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. The home blends into the landscape with elegant stone and mahogany cladding, and is elevated on stilts to preserve the natural topography, offering unique views over the Pennybacker Bridge and surrounding hills. Access is from the north, via a circular driveway leading to a garage or footbridge suspended among mature oak trees.
Upstairs, the house unfolds as a single story of clean lines and noble materials that frame the landscape from every angle. The U-shaped layout organizes the living spaces around a central courtyard, generating a sense of openness without sacrificing privacy. With this proposal, the studio achieves a balance between architecture and environment, combining sophistication, warmth and respect for the place.
