My Architectural Expedition- First blog!

Hello reader!

I’m Sakshi and this is my debut blog, so to begin with introductions~ I’m an architect and researcher from India where I graduated and got my architectural license. Since then I’ve had the privilege of working on various exciting national and international projects.

“Architecture captivates me because it offers a unique opportunity to shape spaces where people live, work, and interact. My passion for built forms intensified during my travels, where I was mesmerized by iconic landmarks that seamlessly blend art, culture, and engineering. The fusion of creativity, problem-solving, and the potential to leave a tangible impact on our surroundings truly piqued my interest.»

For me, architecture is a field that tells a story of culture, time, and place. Over the years, my curiosity about different design approaches and technological advancements in architecture has only grown deeper. During my interactions with architects from around the world, I stumbled upon the «Architect-US program,» a serendipitous discovery that significantly shapes my journey.

Being a part of a multinational firm with creative minds across the globe, who are trying their best to serve the community and understand the human centric approach of designing for was a dream opportunity for me which came true a month ago when I interviewed for an Architecture Studio in Houston, in which the entire team of Architect-US supported me with visa and other processes. I was ecstatic when I received the job offer!

Moving to a new country with a different culture is quite challenging and I have to admit that the process wasn’t always simple, and there were moments when I thought it wouldn’t work. However, the program’s assistance and constant awareness of the upcoming steps made it very simple to follow. All of the preparation before moving to a new country, receiving documents, paper works is really overwhelming; but thanks to the team of Architect-US with their assistance, especially to Georgiana everything has been working fine and smoothly and I would rather say quite quickly!

It’s that wonderful time of the year filled with holidays, and I’m cherishing every moment with my loved ones while wrapping up my project responsibilities at my current firm in Mumbai. Now, I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my visa, and soon, I’ll be flying to Houston. I’m beyond excited to embark on this journey and immerse myself in the unique social culture that The States has to offer!
