Brooklyn-based Group Projects Architecture has designed a 260 m² house located in a clearing in a wooded plot in northeastern New York. Clad in corrugated metal, the home rises beneath a rocky ridge overlooking the Catskills Mountains, taking advantage of natural wind protection and respecting the wooded setting as much as possible.
The project includes an intimate courtyard formed by a concrete wall carved into the slope of the ridge, contrasting with the open landscape to the west. This space, along with a guest house and pool in the clearing, creates a unique architectural experience, in perfect harmony with the landscape.
