My First Month Back in NYC: A Month of Reunions and New Beginnings

My First Month Back in NYC: A Month of Reunions and New Beginnings

Returning to New York City has been an exciting and emotional journey, as this isn’t my first time here. Having lived in the city a few years ago, this first month has felt like a heartwarming reunion—with the city itself, my friends, and the familiar routines of life in the U.S.

One of the most exciting moments was moving into my new apartment in Harlem, just steps away from Central Park. I couldn’t be happier with the location! Having the park so close has allowed me to return to my beloved long walks, which I missed so much. Strolling through the park’s vibrant paths is the perfect way to recharge and reconnect with the city.

This month, I also had the chance to enjoy some iconic New York events. I attended the incredible Halloween Parade, a must-see celebration that showcases the city’s creativity and energy. Shortly after, I cheered on the runners during the NYC Marathon. Witnessing such determination and community spirit was truly inspiring.

On top of reconnecting with old friends, I’ve already started meeting new people. One highlight was a hiking trip to Cold Spring with my roommates. It was a fantastic day, not only because of the perfect weather but also the magic of the place itself. Escaping the city to enjoy fresh air and nature felt amazing. We took the Metro-North train, which only takes about an hour. The “Full Loop” trail we followed lasted around four hours and offered breathtaking views.

Now, fully immersed in my routine, I’m looking forward to what’s next. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and before we know it, Christmas will be here. This first month has been nothing short of incredible, and I can’t wait to see what the next one brings.
