New auxiliary housing in the Marin County mountains

A new accessory dwelling has been built in the mountains of Marin County, California. the project, by Mork-Ulnes Architects, measures 38 square meters and features wood interiors and a loft-like space.

The house is accessed from a driveway on the north side that descends to the main residence; it is balanced on the steep slope and uses a longitudinal timber deck on the east side of the house to double the usable area and take advantage of California’s temperate climate.
