I can’t believe I have been in the US for almost a full 18 months now. My J1 program has come to an end but I had an amzinng time. Time really does fly when you are having fun.
The J1 program sponsored by Architects US has been really great. I do recommend anyone who is thinking about a work experience in the US to go for it. There are so many positive things that the J1 program can do for you. Personally, I have had a great experience and I have felt supported by Architects US throughout my whole program. Sonia who was my main contact has been really great through it all, for all my questions or concerns.
During my time in NYC I have had the opportunity to learn and grow as an architect, understanding the profession and the work in the US. I have also had the chance to discover more of NYC and the US as well. Living and working in NYC has allowed me to visit places I would never have gone to otherwise, places I might not even have known about.
It has been a great stepping stone as I am embarking on the next chapter of my US adventure. I have met a lot of interesting people, made new friends and professional connections which is something I will always carry with me especially as I proceed my career in NYC for now.
I truly hope that this blog has been of some inspiration to you all, especially those of you who might consider coming to the US. None the less I hope I also might have inspired some of you who might already be here to things to do in NYC and around the country.
