Kresge College, a part of the University of California, has been expanded by Chicago Studio Gang with the addition of solid wood structures that mimic how mushrooms grow in nature For this expansion of the university, located in a Pacific forest, four buildings were designed to complement the existing structures and the forested environment. All buildings have concrete podiums supporting wooden load-bearing walls.
