New commercial premises for the Miami Design District

Kengo Kuma and Associates, a Japanese architecture firm, is preparing to create a sculptural block of buildings called Mirai (future, in Japanese). The project will serve as retail space for the Miami Design District and will feature a series of colorful fluted pillars surrounding a commercial building on a corner in the north of the city. The design combines elements of Japanese and Floridian architecture, with colorful facades that match minimalist commercial environments.
