January 2023

New year, new projects, new goals. After spending Christmas with my family at home, it was time to get back to normality, return to Puerto Rico and get back to work. I have left behind the cold of Spain to return to the warmth of San Juan.

First of all, there have been many activities at the office. It is true that Puerto Rico has the longest Christmas in the world, and that is why people are not back to work 100% until the middle of the month. We have continued to develop the Old San Juan Hotel project. Important steps are being taken in its development. It is time to coordinate with the different consultants on the building installations and how they relate to each other. We are almost at the end of 100% of the design development phase.

On the other hand, from January 19 to 22 the San Sebastian Street festivities took place. Also, the call them the street parties. They had not been celebrated since before the COVID and it was noticeable that people were looking forward to it. They take place in Old San Juan, and it is really full of people. Music, dancing, color, joy flood the streets. In addition, there are also food stalls, craft stalls, activities for the little ones. Without a doubt I have to say that I loved it.

Furthermore, at night, Viejo San Juan becomes streets and streets full of people singing and watching concerts. La Perla, a place in Old San Juan that I had been told to always be accompanied, was full of people. The energy of those days was very good and very welcoming.

Finally, we are entering February, one month less for the Architect-US program to end and I am already planning for the future after this adventure. The prognoses are good, and I just hope they come true.
