GETTING READY!

I’ve always been interested in how architecture approaches vary depending on place, context and culture.

I had the opportunity of studying architecture and working in a couple architecture offices in Mexico where I was exposed to the history and legacy of international architecture. This only increased my interest in learning, visiting and experiencing architecture in different places in the world. This led me to pursue my career in US.

I was convinced that in doing so I could become a better architect. When I found about Architect-US I knew that it could open the possibility to make it happen. From the first moment I signed for the program they’ve guided me during this process. We worked on polishing my portfolio and after a couple months I was able to receive available job positings and to get interviews.

When the time came to make a decision I accepted one of the offers in California. Architect-US made the process with the host company very smooth and I was very happy to get involved in a top architecture office in the US.

I’m very happy that Architecture-US sponsored my J-1 Visa, they helped me prepare all of the official papework and getting ready for the embassy appointment. With all the advice and tips I’ve received from the team everything has worked fine so far.

Yesterday I finally got my visa approved and will receive my visa on my passport tomorrow! It’s going to be a few days before I leave my home country and arrive in the USA to begin this journey in California and start my training. I’m really excited to meet new people and explore a new city. The next step is to book my flight, pack my stuff and take off! I’ll be very happy to share more bits about this American dream coming into reality!
