I visited the River Oaks and Sheperd Park areas, and it was amazing: so many decorations and colors, some funny, others more elegant and sober. Just like in the movies! On Christmas Eve, the streets were plenty of people taking pictures and admiring the installations, a very charming moment before the big celebrations.
Christmas atmosphere
My wife and I had our first real pine tree ever: we got it at Home Depot for a reasonable price, and it changed the house! The scent was incredible, and we had so much fun decorating it. I grew up in North Italy with white winters, and even if in this area, it’s almost impossible to see the snow, with a bit of hard work, the festive spirit remained intact.
The food is as important as the decorations: from traditional turkey dinners to multicultural spreads, the city’s restaurants cater to every taste. Food festivals and markets also spring up, featuring seasonal treats and specialties that add a unique touch to the holiday experience.
