That’s a wrap 2021! Hello 2022!
What a way to end the year. If I went back a year ago and told my past self that a year from then I would be living in San Francisco – I would have not believed it. It has been a crazy and intense year, with a lot of changes and new chapters. It seems like the last trimester of 2021 was pretty much a year by itself as all of the visa process and moving to the U.S. happened in that time range. Thanks once again, Architect-US team for all of that.
My first couple months in San Francisco have mostly been about sorting out moving, housing, banking and all the bureaucracy. But most important was getting to know my new firm and going through an introduction of all the new systems and workflows. Apart from the imperial system, it has been pleasant and smooth. The whole team at Arcanum has been extremely welcoming, even though I still haven’t met all of my coworkers – as some of them are still working remotely.
In the end of the year we had a little holiday break. I spent Christmas in San Francisco but went to San Diego for New Year. As I’m used to spending the holidays in the heat as I come from the southern hemisphere (Brazil), it seemed like a good idea to seek the beach and the sun in Southern California. San Diego is absolutely gorgeous. I was aiming to get back on a surfboard, but I was such a coward as the water is absolutely freazing. Even with a wetsuit on! All my respect to the west coast surfers. But either way, it was fun to explore Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla. But best part was definitely the people. It’s so amazing to be in a place in which everyone seems to be joyful, relaxed and aware of it. Good days!
Now we are back to the lovely Bay Area, ready for a new one. Happy new year, everyone!
