How was your Christmas?
My office usually closes around end of the year, so I would like to share what I’ve done so far during my break.
To be honest, I thought Christmas in the U.S. will be more festive than this, even in L.A. But it seems to be a long break for people to return to their hometown and stay with families. I expected to go to some Christmas market, unfortunately there was no Christmas markets in L.A…
The first day of my break, December 24, I checked the weather and it was fogged all day, which actually fits my plan! I had been thinking about go hiking somewhere on a foggy day, because I want to see foggy sea on the mountain once, like the northern of Thailand when traveling during winter. So I was really excited that day. But when I left my house, it was raining, not heavy but enough to make you getting wet, luckily that all my clothes were waterproof. I decided to continue my plan. It took a couple buses from my place to the start point, and it wasn’t raining anymore. There wasn’t crowded as well, judging by the cars at the parking lots. The weather was cold when I walked by the lower part, but it turned out to be hot when the way was getting steeper. The view gave me different feeling compare to the last time I came here, it was sunny day that day, but this time most of the paths were covered by foggy. When I reached the top which is a road beyond the Hollywood Sign, I couldn’t see anything at all, only the foggy flew pass by, which made me feel so good and enjoyed the moment a lot. Wished I could spend more time up there but it turned too cold, so I got down. Due to the winter, the sun was down early so it turned to dark really fast, gave me a bit sense of horror scenes in movies I’ve watch.
The Christmas day, I don’t have things to say much since everything was closed. I ended up spend most of the time on bed..
On December 26, I travel to Torrance. My destination was Mo-Mo Paradise, a famous sukiyaki restaurant in Japan, and even in Thailand.. On weekdays they will be a special price, which is the reason why I came. I enjoy my lunch there and went to Aquarium of the Pacific which I already have a membership, since it’s not far from Torrance. And there are also a small outlet nearby. I bought a couple of clothes there in good discounted prices, then headed to home.
My Christmas was simply than I thought, but I still enjoy it. When I getting older, I feel like maybe we don’t need big plans on holidays, but just do some stuffs to relax myself, enjoy the moments and treat myself some good food, that’s already full fill my day.
