Fall in New York

Hello again,

It’s hard to believe, but three months have already flown by! Time really does pass so quickly. I just experienced my first fall in this city, and it’s been such a beautiful transition. The temperature is starting to drop, which means winter is just around the corner.

Fall here was absolutely stunning. Watching the city transform as the leaves changed colors was magical in itself, but now Christmas decorations are beginning to pop up everywhere. The city feels alive with that special holiday spirit, and it’s impossible not to feel excited about what’s to come.

This past month has been incredible—not only have I been exploring and enjoying the city, but I’ve also been learning so much through my internship. There’s something so nice about gaining hands-on experience while being in such an inspiring environment.

One of the highlights of my month was witnessing the NYC Marathon. Don’t worry, I wasn’t running it! I can barely manage five minutes without gasping for air. But being part of the cheering crowd was such an unforgettable experience. It was truly heartwarming to see the support strangers gave to the runners. I’ll admit, I even teared up a little.

I also got to experience Halloween here, and it was nothing short of amusing and unique. Since New York City doesn’t have the traditional single-family houses you’d typically associate with trick-or-treating, I saw kids walking into bars, delis, and all sorts of local shops asking for candy. It was equal parts funny and confusing, but definitely a memory I’ll cherish.

Thanksgiving was another fun experience. As expected, it revolved around food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy? Always a yes. Before the big day, my roommates and I hosted a Friendsgiving the weekend before, which was such a lovely way to celebrate together. Then, I took a little road trip to New Jersey to visit some family friends. New york city felt unusually quiet during Thanksgiving, as most people head back to their hometowns to celebrate, which gave it a peaceful charm before going to NJ.

On the professional front, my internship is going great. I’m learning so much about project management and teamwork. It’s inspiring to witness just how much effort and collaboration go into bringing a project to life. So many people contribute their unique skills, and when everything comes together, it’s truly remarkable. Right now, I’m working on a mix of local projects and some exciting competitions. Unfortunately, I can’t share the details just yet.

That’s all for this month’s adventures. I can’t wait to see what the next one has in store. Until next time
