Around US

I can’t believe eigh months are already gone. Having such a great time do not make me realize how fast the time is passing by. During the last season I had spent a good amount of time travelling around the US and I could not be more enthusiastic about that.

Travelling has been a good opportunity to notice how architeture changes in each state. The conformity of the landscape and the historical background of each city is clearly reflected in the architecture.

Las Vegas, placed in the middle of the Nevada desert is where all things are possible. Daytime and nighttime blend together and the distance between the faraway places disappears. Paris is close to New York, right around the corner of the Pyramid of Egypt.

Los Angeles is the contrast between the glamour, the wealth and the extreme poverty. On the hills are placed immense villas designed by classical nostalgic architects, while the wide flat suburbs of the city are a monotonous repetition of the same type of house. The business district with some of the most famous Californian architectures (like the Walt Disney Convert Hall) becomes fascinating with the sunset light but driving around the city is impossible to not get impressed about the poverty spread all around.

I’ve been shocked by the slope of San Francisco streets. From photos and postcards you can’t really realize how steep they are. It does not matter how close is the location you want to reach, it will cost you a lot of energy and physical effort to get there. Do not believe at Maps! % minutes walking it’s a lie!

We were fascinated about the thiny colored house all aroud the city. Eeach of them has a long fire escape visibile on the facade, which is something typical of the town

Next weekend? A new destination! New Orleans I’m coming!
