Probably people reading this from New York or any other city in the north of the USA will laugh but yes, winter can be tricky in Florida. Apparently this season is not being a regular winter in the state that is facing entire weeks with the temperatures dropping below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
After spending the first three weeks of December between kayaking, going to the beach and being outdoors in general, winter arrived. Even snowed in the north of the state! Definitely is not something that people in Florida are used to. I thought that coming from a country where there is a cool winter would not be anything terrible but it looks one quickly gets used to live above the 70´s.
It’s been a long time since I felt that cold. I think the main reason is that if people are not used nor prepared for living in the cold, buildings are not different. Is not common to have insulated walls and not all A/C devices can be used as heaters so you can have a hard time trying to find a warm place.
The forecast is not changing at least for another week or, so I keep putting all the clothes that I have. I want the beautiful Florida weather back!
