In addition to designing entertainment architecture, I am a big fan of movies so I had been following the construction of “The World of Avatar” in Disney Animal Kingdom.
They opened some months ago and I finally had the opportunity to visit it. It was a very busy day but is perfectly understandable according to the quality of what they have just opened to the public. They have achieved an amazing mix of real and fantasy landscape, all accompanied by environmental sounds and interactive elements. The “flying mountains” defy all orthodox structures. For an architect is something even scary to see!
I strongly recommend you to visit this area if you have the chance. Do not miss the fly simulator!
